Silver Dunes

Mangawhai's coastal conditions set the palette as much as any brief — salt wind, dry summers, and a shoreline that changes with every tide.
The planting responds directly to all of it. Rolling mounds of silver-grey foliage, lavender, olive groves, and coastal grasses mirror the natural tones of the dunes and work with the prevailing conditions rather than against them. Layered in varying heights and densities, the scheme creates a sculptural quality that holds structure while retaining a sense of wildness.
