Elysian Garden

The brief called for structure and resort ease in equal measure — a combination that suits the Italianate character of this home well.
Working alongside Town & Country Landscapes, the design focused first on privacy. Strategic screening and layered planting effectively removed neighbouring homes from view, making a confined site feel considerably larger and more settled. Mature planting was specified throughout to establish an immediate sense of permanence — buxus hedging paired with tropical palms and cycads, an unconventional combination that captures the spirit of a formal Mediterranean garden without losing its resort warmth. Jasmine and Anemanthele grasses soften the clipped geometry at the edges.
Poor drainage and difficult soil were addressed through extensive ground preparation before a single plant went in. Natural stone paving, chosen to tone with the home's earthy palette, has begun to age gracefully into the landscape. The result is a garden that feels as though it has always been there.
