Coastal Calm

On an Orewa site close to the beach, the brief called for a contemporary coastal feel with generous space for family entertaining.

The pool sits at the centre with stepping stones crossing its surface to a deck beyond — a simple device that extends the usable space while keeping the water as the visual anchor. Palms and soft coastal grasses are planted in generous groupings around the deck, providing enclosure and movement without blocking light. 

Clean lines, subtropical planting, and a relaxed connection between inside and out. A garden that suits the way people actually live near the beach.
